About Us

The Boston Podcast Players was started in 2016 by Greg Lam and Mara Elissa Palma, two Boston area playwrights who met while participating in the Company One PlayLab Unit.

After the conclusion of the PlayLab, they decided to start a monthly podcast which consisted of 10-20 minute excerpts of full-length plays by Boston area playwrights paired with interviews with those playwrights. We began with the eight playwrights from the 2016 PlayLab Unit. At that point, Mara moved from Boston, and Greg decided to do season 2 featuring playwrights from across Boston along with guest co-hosts.

There is a wealth of potential in the Boston creative scene, and we hope this can be a way to amplify that potential to the benefit of the playwrights, the participating actors, the local theatre institutions, and the theatre scene as a whole.
